ႏွစ္စဥ္ႏွစ္တိုင္းမွာ ကမာၻ႔အလွဆံုး အမ်ိဳးသမီးေတြကို စင္ေပၚမွာေတြ႔ဖို႔ အစီအစဥ္ တစ္ခုရွိပါတယ္။ Miss Universe ကိုေျပာတာမဟုတ္ဘူးေနာ္။ Victoria’s Secret Runway Show ကို ေျပာေနတာပါ။ ဒီ show ကို ႏွစ္စဥ္တိုင္း လူသန္းေက်ာ္ ၾကည့္တယ္ဆိုတာ အပိုေျပာတာ မဟုတ္ပါဘူး။ ဒီပြဲရဲ႕ models ေတြကို Angel ေတြလို႔အမည္ေပးၾကၿပီး သူ႔တို႔ရဲ႕ ကိုယ္ခႏၶာေတြကေတာ ့Fashion ေလာကထဲမွာ အလွဆံုးလို႔ သတ္မွတ္ထားၾကပါတယ္။
အမ်ားအားျဖင့္ model ေတြကို genetic အရ ကံေကာင္းျပီး ပင္ကိုယ္ လွသူေတြလို႔ ေျပာၾကပါတယ္။ ဒါေပမယ့္ ဒီသံုးသပ္မႈကို model ေတြရဲ႕ trainer ေတြကလံုးဝ လက္မခံပါဘူး။ Model ေတြဟာ ပင္ကိုယ္ အရပ္႐ွည္ၿပီး ပိန္သြယ္တာ မွန္ေပမယ့္ က်စ္လစ္ေတာင့္တင္း ေနတဲ့ ကိုယ္ခႏၶာ ရဖို႔ကေတာ့ ေလ့က်င့္ခန္း နဲ႔ diet အႀကီးအက်ယ္ လုပ္ဖို႔လိုအပ္ပါတယ္။ Candice Swanepoel နဲ႔ Sara Sampaio စတဲ့ Angels ေတြရဲ႕ trainer Justin Gelband က အခုလို Cosmopolitan Magazine ကို ေျပာျပပါတယ္။ သူတို႔ေတြက တျခားလူေတြထင္သလို ကံေကာင္းၾကတာမဟုတ္ပါဘူး။ Karlie Kloss ဆိုရင္ Ballet ကတာ ၁၁ႏွစ္ရွိေနၿပီ။ Candice က လည္း ငယ္ငယ္တုန္းထဲက Ballet ကလာတာ။ Jasmine Tookes ကေတာ့ Gymnastic ေဆာ့တာ ၁၀ ႏွစ္ရွိေနၿပီ။သူတို႔ေတြအားလံုးက သူတို႔ရဲ႕ကိုယ္ခႏၶာက ဘယ္လိုလဲဆိုတာ နားလည္ဖို႔ သင္ယူလာၾကၿပီး သူတို႔ျဖစ္ခ်င္တဲ့ ပံုစံရေအာင္လုပ္ၾကတယ္။”
Angel ေတြက တစ္ႏွစ္ပတ္လံုး ေလ့က်င့္ခန္းလုပ္ၾကၿပီး VS Show ပြဲ အနီးမွာပိုအားျဖည့္ၾကပါတယ္။ model အသစ္ေတြကေတာ့ ပြဲေရာက္ခါနီး ၃လ အလိုမွာ intensive ေလ့က်င့္ခန္းေတြလုပ္လာၾကၿပီး ဝါရင့္ေတြျဖစ္တဲ့ Candice Swanepoel တို႔ကေတာ့ ၃ပတ္အတြင္းနဲ႔ လိုခ်င္တဲ့ body ပံုရေအာင္ ျပန္ေဆာ့ ၾကပါတယ္။ ဒါေပမယ့္လည္း Candice က ၂၀၁၀ ထဲက VS Angel ျဖစ္တယ္ဆိုတာကိုေတာ့ မေမ့ဖို႔လိုပါတယ္။ Angel ေတြကေတာ့ Resistance Traning, Cardio နဲ႔ Butt Workout ေတြကို Ankle Weight ေတြဝတ္ၿပီးေလ့က်င့္ေလ့ရွိပါတယ္။ ဒီ workout ေတြကိုေတာ့ အားကစားထက္ ခႏၶာကိုယ္လွဖို႔ကို ပိုအေရးထားၿပီး ေဆာ့ၾကတာလို႔ Model Trainer Heather Marr က ေျပာပါတယ္။သူကေတာ့ VS Angel ေတြျဖစ္တဲ့ Enico Maliks တို႔ကို train ေပးတဲ့သူပါ။ Training အမ်ားစုက ဗိုက္ႂကြက္သား၊ ေပါင္တံနဲ႔ တင္ပါး ေတြကို အားသန္လာဖို႔ထက္ ပံုလွ လာေအာင္အေရးထားၾကပါတယ္။
Model ေတြက ၾကြက္သားေတြ ႀကီးလာမွာကို ေ႐ွာင္တဲ့အတြက္ ဝိတ္မရင္ ၅-၁၀ေပါင္ထက္ မေလးတာကိုသံုးေလ့ရွိပါတယ္။ အေၾကာလည္း မၾကာခဏ ေလ်ာ့တာ လုပ္ၾကပါတယ္။ ဒါေပမယ့္သူတို႔ဝတ္ရတဲ့ Angel အေတာင္ပံေတြက ေပါင္ ၂၀ေက်ာ္ ၃၀ေလာက္ရွိေတာ့ လမ္းေလွ်ာက္ရင္ ပံုက်ေအာင္ Weighted Vests ေတြနဲ႔ ႀကိဳေလ့က်င့္ၾကပါတယ္။ ၿပီးေတာ့ ေဒါက္ဖိနပ္ အျမင့္ႀကီးေတြနဲ႔ လမ္းေလွ်ာက္ရတာ ျဖစ္တဲ့ အတြက္ Slant Board ေတြပါတဲ့ training ေတြလည္းလုပ္ရပါတယ္။အစားအေသာက္ပိုင္းဆိုင္ရာမွာ Angel ေတြက ေပါ့ေပါ့ပါးပါးနဲ႔ အစိမ္းေရာင္ အရြက္မ်ားမ်ားကို စားၿပီး ေရအေသာက္မ်ားပါတယ္။ Adriana Lima ဆိုရင္ ခရီးသြားတိုင္း သူစားဖို႔ အစားအေသာက္ကို ေဆာင္ သြားပါတယ္။ ဒါ့မွလည္း သူဘာေတြစားမိတယ္ဆိုတာကိုသတိထားလို႔ရေအာင္ပါ။ တျခား model ေတြကေတာ့ ကိုယ့္ေသြးအုပ္စု၊ကယ္စီယံနဲ႔သံဓာတ္ level အလိုက္ျပင္ဆင္ေပးထားတဲ့ diet ကိုလိုက္နာၾကပါတယ္။
VS model တစ္ေယာက္ျဖစ္ဖို႔ ႀကိဳးစားမႈနဲ႔ ေပးဆပ္ရတာေတြအမ်ားႀကီးပါပဲ။ Heather Marr က ေတာ့ “ ကိုယ္လိုခ်င္တဲ့ ကိုယ္လံုးကိုယ္ထည္ရဖို႔အတိုင္း ေလ့က်င့္ခန္းနဲ႔ အစားအေသာက္လိုက္နာရမွာပဲေလ။”လို႔ေျပာပါတယ္။ဒါေပမယ့္လည္း သူတို႔ေတြ အရမ္းလွလွပပနဲ႔ Runway မွာ ေလွ်ာက္တာကို ျမင္လိုက္ေတာ့ သူတို႔ gym ထဲမွာ ေခြၽးေသြးနဲ႔ ေပးဆပ္တာကို မျမင္ေတာ့ပဲ နတ္သမီးေတြလို့ အားလံုးကျမင္ၾကပါတယ္။

Every year, we all gather around excitedly to see the most beautiful women walking on stage. No, not Miss Universe! We’re talking about Victoria’s Secret Runway Show. It is not an exaggeration to say that the show is watched by millions of people every year. As for the models, dubbed Angels, they are praised for the most sculpted physique in fashion. You do not become a Victoria Secret Angel just by being a model. It is a prestigious spot and an honor in the modeling world to be the VS Angel.
Many claims that the models are genetically blessed mortals. However, this statement is vehemently denied by the trainers of the models. Yes, it is true that they are tall and lean by nature but for a human body to be sculpted and perfectly toned, strict workouts and diets are involved. According to Justin Gelband who has been training Angels such as Candice Swanepoel and Sara Sampaio. They’re not lucky in the way that the public portrays them. For Karlie Kloss, it took 11 years of ballet. Candice grew up doing ballet. Jasmine (Tookes) did gymnastics for 10 years. They all had to learn how their bodies worked and how to get where they need to be.”
The Angels work out all year long but most tend to ramp it up way before the shows. For the newer Angels, they need intensive workout at least 3 months before to get a body in perfect shape while the old-timers like Candice Swanepoel could get back to her form within 3 weeks of intensive workout. Then again, she has been a VS Angel since 2010. The Angels have to do a lot of resistance training, cardio, butt workouts with ankle weights. “The main aim of these workouts is for aesthetics and not athletics according to Model Trainer Heather Marr who has trained a few VS Angels like Enico Maliks. That is why many of the fitness moves are to tone your abs, thighs, and butt instead of making you stronger”. Most models would avoid heavy weights lifting (nothing heavier than 5-10 pounds) to prevent bulking up. They also do a lot of stretching. However, their wings can be up to 20 to 30 pounds so the Angels have to train with the weights beforehand such as weighted vests for stability. Since they are walking on very high heels, some training involved exercising on the slant board.
The Angels tend to eat very lean and green and drinks a lot of water. A veteran Adriana Lima packs her meals in boxes when she travels so that she knows what goes into her body. Man of their diets is planned by nutritionists. Some models follow blood type diet which is a customized diet plan based on their blood type, calcium, and iron levels.
It is no doubt that serious hard work and sacrifices are involved to be looked like a VS Angel. “You have to train and eat for the body you want” according to Heather Marr. Yet, when these Angels walk down the runway looking glamorous in their tiny outfits and heavenly bodies, we only see the magic, not the sweats and tears they’ve shed in the gyms.
