ဒီလမွာေတာ့ Fashion ကို ဦးစားေပး ေဖာ္ျပထားတဲ့ အတြက္ ကမာၻ႔ Fashion ျမိဳ႕ေတာ္ေတြကို ေဖာ္ျပလိုက္ပါတယ္။ Milan, London, New York, Paris တို႔ေတြကေတာ့ နဂို Fashion ျမိဳ႕ေတာ္၄ျမိဳ႕ျဖစ္ျပီး Tokyo နဲ႔ ွSeoul တို႔ကေတာ့ အသစ္ေတြျဖစ္ေပမယ့္ Influence ေကာင္းတဲ့အတြက္ ထည့္သြင္းေဖာ္ျပထားပါတယ္။ Fashion ျမိဳ႕ေတာ္ျဖစ္ဖို႔ဆိုရင္ International Fashion Trend ေတြအတြက္ ဒီျမိဳ႕ကဘယ္ေလာက္ Influence လုပ္လဲ၊ ျမိဳ႕ရဲ႕ဒီဇိုင္းမ်ိဳးစံု၊ Fashion နဲ႔ ပစၥည္းလက္လီ ေရာင္းခ်မႈ၊ ထုတ္လုပ္မႈ အသစ္ေတြနဲ႔အတူ Fashion Week နဲ႔ Event ေတြက Fashion စီပြားေရးကို ဘယ္ေလာက္ ဝင္ေငြရေစလဲဆိုတဲ့ အခ်က္ေတြကို ျဖည့္ဆည္းေပးႏိုင္ရပါမယ္။ဒီ ျမိဳ႕ေတာ္ ဘယ္လို Fashion ျမိဳ႕ေတာ္ ဆိုၿပီး ေခါင္းစဥ္ရရွိလာတယ္ဆိုတာကို ေအာက္မွာေဖာ္ျပထားပါတယ္။

For this fashion-focused Month, Lush is featuring Fashion Capital cities. The usual suspects; Milan, London, New York, and Paris, are in the list but we have included the new but equally influential cities, Tokyo and Seoul, as well. To be called a fashion capital, the city has to have a major influence on international fashion trends and significant economic contribution by its designs, new productions, retailing fashion products and events such as Fashion weeks and trunk shows. Here, we are featuring how these 6 cities get the fashion capital title.
Paris
Paris emerged as the largest, richest and most powerful state in Europe in the 1640s. Its ruler Louis XIV clearly understood the importance of Fashion in establishing France Culture. With the change of the centuries, France has produced Fashion Prints, Royal Portraits, Neoclassicism and Empire style, and haute couture. French designers have long created famous and existing top brands such as Chanel, Dior, Saint Laurent, Hermes, and Louis Vuitton. Paris Fashion Week was started in 1973 and is held semiannually. Parisians are “ well known for their effortless styles and “The Cool French Girl” look has been well revered by many women around the world.
Milan
In terms of Industrial design, fashion, and architecture, Milan is widely hailed as a global capital for them. If Rome is “Old” Italy then Milan is the “Modern” Italy. Milan is actually not the original fashion capital of Italy. Florence and Venice were the original capitals but Milan moved strength to strength throughout centuries. Now it is one of the fashion capitals of the world thanks to designer brands such as Gucci, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana and Salvatore Ferragamo. Milan Fashion Week was established in 1958, and it is part of the global “Big Four fashion weeks”.
London
London became a major city in European Fashion in the 1600s with the influence of the English Royal Court. It later became a place known for upper-class tailoring and bespoke clothing. London’s fashion such as Mods, Teddy boys and Punk styles significantly influenced the fashion trends worldwide. With enormously talented designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen and iconic brands like Burberry, London fully embraces its name as one of the ‘Big Four’ in fashion. Organized by the British Fashion Council (BFC), London Fashion Week was started in October 1983 and it is known for wild, adventurous and quirky fashion.
New York
New York has many iconic fashion moments such as Marily Monore’s famous subway scene in The Seven Year Itch. The late Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy is still emulated and inspired many women and fashion designers alike. New York City has reportedly more than of 5,000 fashion industry showrooms which is more than any other city in the world. Famous New York Fashion Designers are fashion household names such as Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, and Donna Karan. New York Fashion Week was started in 1943 and it was created by Eleanor Lambart who was the press director of the American fashion industry’s first promotional organization, the New York Dress Institute.
Japan
The Capital city of Japan is well known for its street styles. This is the iconic fashion styles such as Lolita, Gyaru, Decora and Visual-kei are born. Japan is already known for its technology and as the place where cutting-edge trends are created. Therefore, Tokyo while still young in terms of being a fashion capital is one to look for the future of fashion. Bear in mind that Tokyo has a generation of avant-garde designers, including Issey Miyake and Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons since the 1980s who are now household names in the west. South Korea
South Korea is on the path for world domination. It started with Korean Dramas with the romantic love stories and insanely gorgeous actors. Then there came K-pop with its catchy songs, jaw-dropping dance moves, and equally gorgeous performers. Afterward, it is Korean Beauty. Seoul may be a very new fashion capital but South Korea has the most advanced cosmetic industry in the world. Now Korean Fashion is making waves.
Seoul Fashion Week is a bi-annual series of global fashion business events and it has attracted many fashion editors, buyers, photographers and fashionistas from all over the world. With its promising local design talent and exciting street style and K-pop army, Seoul is a sure fashion capital of Asia.
