It is a fiction by Anthony Doerr. The book depicts how the lives of two people, a blind French girl, Marie-Laure LeBlanc, and a German boy, Werner Pfennig, are intertwined. The book is set during Work War 2, where LeBlanc and her father had to seek refuge from the German soldiers at her uncle’s place. LeBlanc started to broadcast herself reading her Jules Verne novel instead of her uncle’s old records. Pfennig then listened to LeBlanc’s broadcast while trapped under the rubble managing to stay alive without food or drinks for days. This is a heart-touching novel worth reading.
What If It’s Us
Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera collaborated to write about 2 polar opposite boys, Arthur and Ben, who cannot apprehend if destiny was pushing them together or making them drift apart. Arthur who was only in New York for the summer and he believes that destiny can bring about romance when it’s unexpected. Ben feels that destiny was not on his side as he had just broken up with his partner. But when the boys met, is it love at first sight, an infatuation or new friendship that was about to blossom?
The Travelling Cat Chronicles
Nana is on a road trip without a destination. All he had in mind was that he was with his owner, Satoru in his silver van. Satoru wanted to visit his friends from his youth without telling Nana the reason why. This novel explores the wonders of life and the unexpected roads they had to take. This book depicts the compassion of friendship and loneliness.
