We normally do not use rugs as they are either a hassle to clean or we feel that they do not suit our aesthetic. So as such, we have come up with the Dos and Don’ts of the basics of setting up rugs at home.
1.Placement of Rugs Under Furniture
Make sure that the rugs extend under the furniture. As consistency is key, the legs need to be consistent. Either all the legs are on the rug or only the front two are on the rug.
2. Leave Equal Spaces
Ideally, there should be an equal amount of space on all sides of the rug. The main goal is to have the rug centralized in the room.
3. Get Bold Patterns and Colours
You use rugs to express who you are, thus implanting playfulness and joy into the house, so embracing bold colors and patterns while shopping.
4. Don’t Reduce the Sizes
When buying a rug do not try to buy small ones. As the bigger the rugs are the more expensive it is. However, buying a big one will save you from replacing another one.
5. Shapes
Circular rugs are better for smaller spaces, adding a playful and whimsical tone to the room. Square rugs are ideal for square rooms or are paired with squarish tables or another square rug. Rectangular rugs are the ultimate traditional rug shape that weaves perfectly into the room with large open space.
