Rare is the first album after Selena Gomez’s series of struggles that she had gone through these past few years. She had deteriorated due to lupus, kidney transplant, she stays in mental health treatment centers and her break-ups. Rare features Gomez wandering in a celestial universe, with a cinematic of rainbows and glitter, making the whole video look like a midsummer night dream where Selena is a fairy living in that scene. The Rare album is an album that depicts Selena overcoming her struggles and beating her demons.
