For the past few years, meal kits have been a way to eat healthy for people who don’t have time to go grocery shopping regularly. It’s a simple process: subscribe to a service, pick your menus and a box of fresh, pre-measured ingredients arrives at your door every week, with easy-to-follow instructions to make a delicious and healthy meal.
Meal kits have gained more popularity in the last few months, with many people stuck at home due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, convenience comes at a steep price. Blue Apron, one of the first companies to popularize meal kit delivery, charges $60 a week for three meals for two people. So while it may be cheaper to buy the ingredients yourself, there are many who wouldn’t mind paying extra for the convenience.
